Hear what our clients have to say about our Hospital:
Antelope Animal Hospital is proud to offer:
A
semi-annual to annual exam is highly recommended for your pet. Animals do
age faster and the earlier a problem can be diagnosed the better it can be
treated. A complete exam will consist of a head to toe exam. Having
a good look at the eyes, ears, oral cavity, listening to the heart and lungs,
feeling the abdomen, examining the reproductive organs, checking the nervous
system, looking at the skin, and evaluating the musculoskeletal system all constitute
a complete exam. Prevention medicine is definitely the best
medicine. We work on educating our clients on ways that they can
implement prevention medicine, which includes things such as vaccines, heartworm
prevention, and dental care.
Cutting Edge Laser Surgery FOR YOUR PET !!!!!!
One of the wonderful things that sets us apart from
other clinics in this area is the use of a laser for surgery. The
benefits of using a laser are multi factorial:
Less Pain - The laser seals nerve endings as it moves through tissue. Your pet
will feel less pain after surgery.
Less Bleeding – The laser seals small blood vessels during surgery, resulting in less
bleeding and quicker procedures.
Less Swelling – With laser technology, only light comes into contact with the tissue,
causing minimal swelling.
Extreme
Precision – The laser enables your surgeon to only affect or
remove the target tissue, leaving the healthy surrounding tissue untouched.
Reduced Risk of Infection – The high heat of laser energy kills
bacteria and microorganisms as it moves through diseased areas, reducing the
chance of infection.
We also use "light-weight" anesthesia to
help reduce the risk of surgery. We have equipment that allows us to
monitor your pet’s blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels while
under anesthesia. Our up to date surgery room is equipped to deal with
both elective and most emergency cases that arise. We also have a boarded
surgeon come to our practice for the more advanced surgical cases.
This is an area of special interest to us here at
Antelope Animal Hospital. We have an up to date dental suite where full
dental radiographs can be taken. The same monitoring equipment that is in
our surgery room is also in our dental suite. We perform complete exams
on each dental. They are cleaned, polished and treated with fluoride.
We have the ability to bond certain fractured teeth and thus helping us save
those important teeth.
As we age so do are pets. Often times faster
than they need to. Good, aggressive senior care can help that life long
companion to have quality of life as they age. Semi-annual exams become
more important as does annual blood panels to monitor their internal
system. Quality dental care is vital to older animals as periodontal
disease can have more than just an effect on appetite. They are not as
quick as they use to be and they sometimes will show signs of arthritis that
does not have to go untreated.
We have a wonderful in house laboratory that allows
us to better treat the animals we see. Our trained staff is able to
perform complete blood counts, evaluate the chemistry levels of our patients,
evaluate urine, and other diagnostic tests. We also use a wonderful
referral laboratory that is fast and efficient. Biopsies are sent to a
boarded pathologist.
There are many medicines that are just for
animals. Our pharmacy is here to provide you with the medicines that will
best fit your pets needs. We have access to a compounding pharmacy that
can provide difficult to find medications. They are able to generate medicines
that are easier to give those animals that are hard to medicate. Just ask
us if there is anything we can help you find.
We have a great x-ray machine that allows us to get
good images to help us diagnose structural and other problems that are capable
of being diagnosed via x-rays. We have wonderful doctors that we refer to
if an ultrasound or endoscopy is needed.
We carry mainly Purina Veterinary Diets, although we do
offer Hills and Royal Canin veterinary diets as well.
These diets address issues such as urinary crystals & stones, liver
disease, obesity, and gastrointestinal upset.
We are able to special order prescription diets from these three
companies for you if we do not have them in stock.
We take all major credit cards as well as
cash. One of the credit cards we take that many may not know about is
Care Credit. This is a health professionals credit card and can be used
for medical, dental, and veterinary care. You can apply on line, over the
phone, or in person. More information about Care Credit is available here.
